Accommodation places of vessels calling at ports in different regions must be disinfected or undergo a disinfestation treatment by companies authorized by the corresponding Ministry of Health department at each location. Sanitary practices and treatments are required in order to prevent outbreaks of virus, such as the very recent COVID-19, or infectious diseases transmitted by insect vectors, such as malaria, Dengue fever, Zika, etc.
